The Thing About Writing

Standard

I know what you want,

So don’t ask me to give.

People judge and they taunt,

But they don’t know how to live.

They’ll look at my poems.

Criticize by content.

Look for some love;

Look for some tragedy.

And when life offers neither,

I’ll write at my leisure.

About the sun and the air and the trees;

Anything I very well please.

Because my poems re true,

Not always for each and every one of you.
