I wanted a dog,
As I had wanted the world.
I was lost in this haze and this fog.
I didn’t know my principles would be curled.
I had gotten a cat.
I learned that love wasn’t always given.
It hurt, but that’s that.
All is forgiven.
I still want a dog.
And I still love my cat.
My principles are no longer flat,
As my haze is no longer congested by smog.
